Model Behaviour…

Next month will see Glamour hit the city as, ‘Sheffield’s next top model’ will be announced.

Now unfortunately the infamous Tyra Banks, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell will not be attending, however, Sheffield’s ‘finest’ will be out in force.  Check the Facebook group for your chance to get up close and personal with both the male and female contestants and also cast your vote.

Students from an events management course at Hallam have organised this event in order to raise money and awareness for charities, Barnodo’s and Mencap. No one involved in or working for the event will make a profit, which makes the night just that bit more worthwhile, as proceeds go to such a good cause. The night is set to be an event to remember as over 2000 people have joined the fan page on Facebook, in order to place their vote for who they should think should win the competition.

When the voting comes to an end the result will be announced at a planned night at Walkabout, Carver Street S1 4FS, on the 10th March.

Walkabout will be transformed into quite the venue, with a fashion show, showcasing the latest trends from boutiques on Ecclesall and Division Street, a live DJ, Raffle and an after party once the winner has been decided on.

Judges on the night are said to be, Former model and Director of DK Model Management- Kathy Holdsworth, Miss Every Model- Kayleigh Hewitt and Top Photographer- Amie Parsons. The winning male and female will be determined by the ten contestants who receive the most Facebook ‘likes’ on the group’s page. The overall winners will receive the amazing prize of, a year’s contract with top model agency DK Model Management and a portfolio session with Sheffield’s own Amie Parsons, not something to be sniffed at.

So get your tickets quick or miss out! £5 for the full event, £2 for the after party.

“This is something NOT to be missed”, says Chelsea Batchelor, Bartender at Walkabout, “There has never been so much Hype leading up to an event like there has been to the Top Model competition. It should be a hell of a night.”
